3" Body Lift
He says -
"Used Duff chrome longtubes. Great design, lousy execution. Cleared the frame both
sides, but not fabricated exact(ly) to what must've been their jig. Driver's side is too
close to the fuel filter and cover in the frame rail, and the passenger side is at a bad
angle - too far down and toward the transmission. May be able to bend them up and out, but
we'll see. To be continued..."
Ace received a new set of headers from Duff, but they had the same
clearance issues. He is returning them and going with '94/'95 Mustang Headers

1987 Bronco II 4x4 w/ T5
2" body lift
Used James Duff non-chrome headers
Used James Duff Mounts
He says -
"I had problems with the dipstick interfering with the steering column (not cool). I
have to check my fuel filter frequently to make sure it isn't too close. The passengers
side emptied dead center on the crossmember. I had to have the crossmember modified.
The Duff headers are also too close to the front driveshaft. When I use the 4
wheel drive the u joint hits the header."
Paul's Notes on the pictures:
First Picture: "As you can see,
There are some issues with these headers. The passenger side would hit
the crossmember dead on without the modification"
Second Picture: "Notice the
shiny metal on the drive shaft"
Third Picture: "I had a
machinist friend make a spacer for the dipstick tube"
Fourth Picture: "The
James Duff mounts are nothing special either. The motor moves around too much when
you get on it. See the broken fitting on the air pump."
General: "I would like to
replace the headers and mounts next year. I'm not sure yet what I would go
with."
